Passionate Poetry About Life’s Journey
“Aminals” is a silly ten-year-old poem. It’s about being the best version of yourself. Just as iguanas are rarely philosophical, few alpacas have explored the world’s depths. Regardless, most of us are capable of much more than we give ourselves credit for.
Relatedly, “Wandering” is an abstract poem about spirituality and nature. It’s about feeling unstoppable when sensing your loved ones in the world around you. Both poems describe a soul’s journey as it pursues love, knowledge, and happiness.
Aminals
the little alpaca
nibbles on cucumbers
beneath the deep blue sea
as the curious iguana
contemplates existentialism and the death of God
before the bright burning sun
Wandering
Boundless!
Please take me back
beneath that pale blue sun wandering
barefooted where I can taste you
on my lips or in the breeze. Boundless!
I’m wishing you were here wandering
in search of an end with me.
